2015 Open Enrollment Announcement

Dear ConneXsys Engineering Employee,


Welcome to the Open Enrollment for the ConneXsys Engineering Group Health and Dental Insurance Plans.                                           


Kaiser Group Health Insurance Plans

What's New

Due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the 2015 Open Enrollment will include New Kaiser Health Insurance plans which include changes to coverage and rate structure starting January 1, 2016.

The following important Kaiser Health plan changes will become effective 1/1/2016:

  1. Each family member has a separate rate based on his or her age. This rate will be used for the full health plan year (January 1 – December 31, 2016) and updated annually at renewal.
  2. If a family has more than three children under age 21, the premium for each additional child after the third will be $0. Age bands are 0-18, 19-20, every age from 21 to 63, and 64+.
  3. All plans include child dental for member under age 19. HMO members will be enrolled in a separate child dental plan underwritten by Delta Dental of California. PPO members receive child dental benefits as part of their medical coverage and not as a separate plan.


New Kaiser Plans starting January 1, 2016

For 2016, our current lineup of Kaiser Group Health Plans will be replaced with the following new lineup of plans. During the Open Enrollment Period, you have the option to enroll in any of these new plans:

  • Bronze 60 HSA 4500/40
  • Platinum 90 HMO 0/20%
  • Silver 70 HMO 1000/50
  • Gold 80 PPO 0/35

*NOTE: If you are currently enrolled in one of our Kaiser-Group Health Insurance plans, but fail to complete your election during Open Enrollment, your current Kaiser coverage will be mapped to one of the new Kaiser Group Medical plans effective January 1, 2016. See the attached 2016 Kaiser Health Plans Mapping Schedule.


Health Saving Accounts

Employees enrolling in the Bronze 60 HSA 4500/40 Plan (Only) are encouraged to open a Health Savings Account (HSA) with their bank for the purpose of paying for eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses on a pre-tax basis.

To get started, you will need to open a Health Savings Account with your bank or financial institution, then complete the attached Health Savings Account Form 2016 and return it to ConneXsys Engineering Human Resources in order to begin your pre-tax payroll contributions to your HSA account.

*NOTE: Any employee who currently has a Health Savings Account deduction set up for 2015 should also complete the Health Savings Account Form and return the completed form to Human Resources.


Principal Group Dental Insurance Plan

For 2016, we will continue to provide the same Principal Dental insurance plan. The rates for the Principal Dental Insurance have increased by 3%. See the attached 2016 Principal Dental Rates.
